GHapp Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
GHapp is an app for finding events, restaurants, bars and things to do in Accra and across Ghana. It is operated by OFFCAMPUS, LLC ("GHapp", "we", "us"), which is responsible for the personal information described here. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
You can browse GHapp without an account. Most of what is described below applies only if you create one.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you sign up we collect what your sign-in method provides:
- Email: your email address, password (stored hashed) and the name you enter.
- Sign in with Apple: a user identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share them, your name and email (which may be an Apple private relay address).
- Sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile photo from your Google account.
- Phone: your mobile number, which we use to send a one-time sign-in code by SMS.
- Profile. Your name, username (if you set one), home city and profile photo.
- Preferences. The things you tell us you like (for example music, food or nightlife categories) during onboarding or in your account settings.
- Saves, follows and plans. Events and places you save, promoters and venues you follow, and group polls you create or vote in.
- Friends. Friend requests you send, accept or decline.
- Vibe checks. When you report how busy a place is (for example "packed" or "quiet").
- Flyers you submit. Photos of event flyers you upload, and the event details you confirm.
- Ask GHapp messages. What you type into the Ask GHapp assistant and the replies it gives.
- Reports. Content you report to us and the reason you give.
- Messages to us. Anything you send when you contact support.
Information collected automatically
- Location. If you allow it, the app uses your device's location while you are using it to show what is near you, sort results by distance and give directions. Your precise location is used on your device and is not stored on our servers. You can turn location off at any time in your iPhone or Android settings; the app still works, using the city you choose.
- Activity in the app. Which events you open, so we can show what is popular and improve recommendations.
- Push notification token. If you allow notifications, a token that lets us send reminders to your device, plus a record of which notifications we sent you so we don't send duplicates.
- Crash and performance data. If the app crashes or hits an error, a report with your device model, operating system, app version and technical details of the error. These reports do not include your name, email or messages.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your contacts, your photos (other than flyers you choose to upload), your calendar (events you add are written to your calendar on your device; we don't read it), or advertising identifiers. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not show ads.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To show events and places near you or in your chosen city, and to personalise what you see.
- To run social features: friends, seeing which friends saved an event, group polls and vibe checks.
- To answer your questions in Ask GHapp and build night-out plans.
- To read submitted flyers and turn them into event listings after a person reviews them.
- To send the notifications you have turned on, such as reminders for saved events.
- To keep the app safe: reviewing reports, enforcing our Terms of Service, and preventing abuse (for example, daily limits on Ask GHapp).
- To fix bugs and improve the app.
What other people can see
- Other signed-in GHapp users can find you in friend search and see your name, username, home city and profile photo. They cannot see your email address or phone number.
- Your friends can see which events you have saved.
- Poll participants can see polls you create and the results. Anyone you share a poll link with can open it.
- Everyone can see total counts, such as how many people saved an event or follow a venue, but not who they are. Vibe checks are shown as an overall level, not with your name.
- Flyers you submit become public event listings once approved. Your name is not shown on them.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run GHapp, and only as needed for them to do so:
| Provider | What they do | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts our database, sign-in system, file storage and server functions | All account and app data described above |
| Anthropic | Powers Ask GHapp and reads submitted flyers | Your Ask GHapp messages and your city; flyer images you upload. Not your name, email or phone number |
| Apple and Google | Sign-in (if you use them) and push notification delivery | What is needed to sign you in and deliver notifications |
| Expo | Routes push notifications to Apple and Google | Your push token and notification content |
| SMS provider | Sends phone sign-in codes (if you use phone sign-in) | Your phone number and the code |
| Sentry | Crash and error reporting | The crash data described above |
We may also share information if required by law, to protect the safety of our users or the public, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of GHapp (in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information).
Links to other apps
GHapp can open other apps and websites, such as WhatsApp, Uber, Bolt, Yango, Google Maps, Instagram and ticket sellers. Those services have their own privacy policies; we don't control what they collect once you leave GHapp.
Event and place information
Listings in GHapp come from public sources, including venue and promoter pages, Eventbrite, Instagram business accounts and Google Places, as well as flyers submitted by users. This is information about events and businesses, not about you.
Where your information is stored
Our service providers may store and process information outside Ghana, including in the United States and the European Union. We rely on providers that protect data with industry-standard security, including encryption in transit.
How long we keep information
- Account data is kept until you delete your account.
- Ask GHapp messages are kept with your account and deleted when you delete it.
- Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.
- Approved event listings from flyers you submitted remain in the app after you delete your account, but are no longer linked to you.
- Reports you made may be kept, without your account details, where needed to keep the community safe.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile & account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, profile, saves, follows, friends, preferences, Ask GHapp history, poll votes, vibe checks and uploaded flyer images. It cannot be undone. If you can't access the app, email us at info@pivot57.com and we'll delete it for you.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, including under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or ask us to limit how we use it; and
- complain to a data protection authority, such as Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
You can update your profile and preferences in the app, turn notifications and location off in your device settings, and delete your account as described above. For anything else, email info@pivot57.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
GHapp is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it. Some listings, such as bars and nightlife, are only suitable for adults; please follow the age rules of each venue.
Security
We protect your information using encryption in transit, access controls that keep each user's private data visible only to them, and secure storage of sign-in tokens on your device. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your device locked.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as GHapp changes. We'll change the date at the top, and if the changes are significant we'll tell you in the app before they take effect.
